Re: Network Access - again
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them. NetworkNetServerEnum=1 As I noted a couple of posts ago, this 'seemed' to be beneficial, but I couldn't make any positive statement. Mini Tree ? No, have never used it. I'll let you know how it turns out, one way or the other. Roger

Re: Network Access - again
OK, W7 running, other machines powered off. The Network folder in XY shows only the shares that are on the current machine (I7-PC). I then booted the W2K system and waited several minutes. Windows Explorer shows the W2K machine, XY doesn't. I right-clicked on the Network folder and selected 'Browse ...

Re: Network Access - again
The bottom line is that XY does not reliably notice a new system that becomes active on the network i.e. although I may know that a system has been booted and is now available, it still isn't visible when expanding the XY tree. Furthermore, right-clicking Network and selecting 'Browse for Network Se...

Re: Network Access - again
I have just had a look at the release notes for the Beta version v16.00.0106 - 2015-11-22 16:40 (released in response to raananb's report), in which you appear to attribute the Network access problem (and fix) to some foreign-language characteristic. Unfortunately, I am using plain-vanilla English, ...

Network Access - again
I have just upgraded from 12.x to 17.40.0200, mainly because I hoped that the handling of Network shares would be better (it was a little flakey e.g. not displaying other hosts sometimes, and sometimes appearing to 'hang on to them' when they have been removed (e.g. powered down)). Unfortunately, it...

Whew, you've been busy!
Just d/l v17.4 and the 'what's new' page. I've been using v12.x for the last 5 or 6 years, it's done all I wanted, but now I see all these new gadgets, so I'll blame you if I don't get any sleep tonight!
Congrats, and thank you for a great product.

Re: 'Size' column needs clear space to the right of the valu
Thanks for the replies, I'll investigate Mesh's idea. In the meantime, I got around it by inserting the 'Comment' column between the 'Size' and 'Modified' columns. As I never use the 'Comment's, I can shrink it down until only the 'C' shows in the heading, and I have the nice gap that I was looking ...

'Size' column needs clear space to the right of the value
Almost everything else seems to be customizable, but I can't find a way of doing this. When the right-justified 'Size' column is followed by a left-justified column (e.g. 'Modified'), it all runs together. Is there a way of avoiding this? Maybe have the ability to create a 'null' column? And as it's...

Re: DUB question and suggestion
1. license order tonight: Great, thanks! Done! License received, thank you. 2. 'remove item' command in the context menu: possible already. Configuration | Extended | Custom items in shell context menu | Folder Tree | Hide Folder from Mini Tree. BTW, would "Remove Folder from Mini Tree" b...

Re: DUB question and suggestion
@stefan For your case use something like: Code: "Open PDF1" open "C:\pdfs\xxx 1.pdf"; "Collection PDF" open "C:\pdfs\xxx 2.pdf"; "My ToDos.PDF" open "C:\pdfs\xxx 3.pdf"; (Note the indention!!!) I had seen that in the Scripting section of He...

Re: DUB question and suggestion
Excellent! I hadn't realized that was possible. For now, Ive just added a bunch of entries like open "C:\pdfs\xxx.pdf" It works fine, but it does look a bit clunky :( I don't see an immediate scripting solution that would present just a list of the filenames, without the 'open' and the pat...

Re: Questions on some settings
RecLocMenuMax=0 Something to do with the number of 'Recent Locations' that will be retained? 0 == unlimited??? Just guessing EDIT: Yes, changed .ini to RecLocMenuMax=5 and the 'Recent Locations' list is now truncated to 5. NOTE: you have to edit the .ini file when XYplorer is closed. Changing it whi...

DUB question and suggestion
I really like the DUB! Question: In the HELP manual where it is extolling the benefits of DUBs, there is the phrase Right-mouse dropping is supported, offering the full power of the drag-n-drop context menu.. Maybe I call it something else, but I don't recognize this type of operation. Suggestion: A...

Re: New Folder, Vbox Shared Folder, Launch Bar...
But I see the shared folders as drives in XY. Is this just because I automount them? I guess so. I shared the \temp folder on my host system, then told Vbox about it in Machine\Settings. If I power up the XP machine and do >net use x: \\vboxsvr\temp then it appears on the XY tree as 'temp on 'vboxs...
