Re: New Version seems to have locked up my system
Thanks! I will try the hover change. I also uninstalled my antivirus, which was a resource hog to the point of using 7+ GB of RAM (out of 32), but will remain nameless (but it rhymes with Schmitdefender) so that may be part of the issue. I'm kind of glad to get rid of it, actually. Anyone have sugge...

New Version seems to have locked up my system
Hi, I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but I JUST updated to 25.00.0200. Restarted, and now I can't double click any files to open them from XYplorer. I can't even minimize or close it with the icons in the upper right. I keep getting a "the other application is busy" error....

Re: Constant Crashes
Anyway, I'll keep trying. I only have 20 days left in my trial period, so I hope I can figure it out by then. And thanks for the continuing help! As I think you have seen, we take crashes like this as serious things and I also believe you've noticed how Don and the rest of us work as quickly as pos...

Re: Constant Crashes
Well, I thought you had it licked, but it crashed once last night. Again, while I was using my photo cataloging software. I had turned off the previews, but apparently XY was still previewing through the shell. Still, only one crash in two days is better than what I experienced before. I tried usin...

Please find DisableSHChangeNotifyRegister in the INI and set it to 1: DisableSHChangeNotifyRegister=1 Still crashes? Is this one for me? (Sorry, got confused. :) ) Yep, for you (and anybody else with "constant crashes"). :) But note that certain things (e.g. Undo) will not work anymore wi...

Re: Constant Crashes
I also d/l the debugging tools a day or so ago. Problem is, I don't know how to create a crash dump, and don't really know how to read them, but if someone can give me some reasonably specific instructions on how to create the dump, I'll gladly send it to anyone who thinks he or she can make sense o...

Re: Constant Crashes
Okay, I only had one crash last night, while using my jpeg catalog software. Left the computer on all day today with XY open and both Firefox and IE open as well. No crashes. It seems to only happen when I'm actually doing something, and XY is in the background. It's never crashed WHILE I was using ...

Event Viewer: "Faulting application xyplorer.exe, version 8.80.0.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x4ec683bd." No other events anywhere near that time. Are you using a virus scanner, if yes which? I need some way to generate those crashes on my system... I'm usin...

Re: Constant Crashes
You know, I never thought to check the Event Viewer. I wish I had written down the times, now. It's been pretty good since the last crash. I'll also give process monitor a try. I have a similar program, but PM might be easier to use.

Forget that--just realized I was watching a regular DVD, not a Blu-ray.DeadSerious wrote:2) my DVD drive is a Blu-ray. Could the UDF business have something to do with XY crashing? That is, something to do with reading the disk in the Drive?
