Re: No photo thumbnails in raw format!

I used to use XYplorer constantly, but since this problem came up I've had to return to cludgy old Windows Explorer, with XYplorer remaining unused. You're telling me that you don't have any other file types besides these problem ones on your sys that XY could be easily used for? I can understand n...

Re: No photo thumbnails in raw format!

Since the above exchange of messages, I've stopped using XYplorer and gone back to using Windows Explorer, which does display thumbnails for Canon "CRW" raw files. I've just updated XYplorer to the most recent version in the hope that this problem has meanwhile been "fixed". Unfo...

Re: No photo thumbnails in raw format!

Thanks for testing, it might help a little once I begin to implement this. Thanks. This will be a help, probably to more people than just myself. To answer comments made above that there are other ways to view Raw files: Of course, and I use Cannon's ZoomBrowser EX or Photoshop Elements to view ind...

Re: No photo thumbnails in raw format!

...Just out of curiosity: if you rename the file to another extension, does the preview still work in Explorer? I tried substituting both TIF and JPG for CRW and it made no difference: no thumbnail. I meant in Explorer... Even after changing the CRW extension in Explorer to either JPG or TIF the th...

Re: No photo thumbnails in raw format!

RAW is not supported by GDI+. But if Explorer can do it there should be a way. Needs a little research... EDIT: XY currently supports any RAW format with embedded TIFF thumbnails, e.g. NEF and DNG. EDIT2: which RAW format are you talking about? See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAW_image_format It'...

No photo thumbnails in raw format!

My reason for using XYplorer is as a replacement for Windows Explorer, with many useful additional functions. But I've come up against a limitation to XYplorer that reverses the situation and makes Windows Explorer superior to XYplorer, at least in one key aspect: XYplorer's inability to show thumbn...

Set Home doesn't "stick" for column widths

OK, here's the problem: I created a Tab for a particular higher-level folder. Since this folder only contains subfolders and a couple of files, all with relatively short names, before selecting the "Set Home" command, I first went down two folder levels to the folder with the longest file ...

Wow. That's exactly what I did!! :D I just downloaded the latest Beta (v4.50.0025) and checked the "4-bit icon" option. Works great now, a spiffy and very legible reddish-orange background. Thanks! OK, plan C works. Fine! Did you also try it unchecked one more time? That's plan B....

I'd suggest just changing the orange to dark red for tray...like the ZA one. Wow. That's exactly what I did!! :D I just downloaded the latest Beta (v4.50.0025) and checked the "4-bit icon" option. Works great now, a spiffy and very legible reddish-orange background. Thanks! OK, pl...

I just sent you one via my JCH Yahoo email...easier to do that than upload for linking here.. I have 2 XY's running...one minimized and one active so you can see all three icons: title + taskbar + tray Notice the difference? Yep, it appears your tray supports just 4-bit (16 colors)! There's no way ...

The next version will have a 24-bit icon instead of a 16-bit. Maybe it helps. Perhaps the XY icon's near invisibility in the tray has more to do with the particular background color of each user's system? My tray's background is W2000's classic grey, which evidently doesn't have adequate contrast f...

Icon nearly invisible when minimize to tray

I love the minimize to tray feature and the subsequently added small right-button context button. But when minimizing to tray, XY's icon changes from a legible orange to a virtually invisible light yellow color (which makies the "XY" virtually illegible). Could this be changed -- maybe dar...

Just a thought about one aspect of minimization to the sys tray that you might want to change: at the moment, left-clicking and right-clicking on the Tracker icon in the sys tray both work the same: they restore the Tracker window. Wouldn't it be more intuitive for the left-click to restore and a ri...
