Re: Delay in opening folders

Just as a short feedback: Just migrated to XY x64 and initial impressions tell me opening folders is taking longer than x86 [...] For me no difference in the delay. Ah, maybe you are right: With the x86/32-bit version folders seem to open a little bit more quickly than with x64. (But still with a de...

Re: Delay in opening folders

admin wrote: 05 Oct 2025 10:07 I would start by investigating the list view. Which columns are you showing?
First I tried again with the default settings for the columns:
Line numbers / Name / Ext / Size / Type / Modified / Created

Then I reduced to "Name" as the only column.

There was no difference in the delay.

Re: Delay in opening folders

Thanks for the information, Don. It's good to know that the delay is not the "normal" behaviour. I will investigate further the matter in the way you suggest the next time I will test the program.

Re: Delay in opening folders

O.k. I see. So I should clarify what I mean: I do not keep the portable version on my computer when I have have finished some tests. E.g. I tested on October 1st, aftwards I removed the portable version from my PC. Today (or yesterday) I downloaded again the No-Install Package in order to continue t...

Re: Delay in opening folders

I got no answer to my above question but I managed to find out by myself what the last poster obviously wanted to tell me: https://www.xyplorer.com/faq-topic.php?id=fresh ("How can I quickly test XYplorer with a fresh configuration?") Anyway, this procedure was not necessary as I test alwa...

Re: Windows 11 - Why are there two right-click menus?

[...] I really thought moving to the 64-bit version of XY would solve all the issues with separate context menus. This was my impression too. I think it was my conclusion from this posting by Don in another topic: In the 64-bit version you don't have to do anything, it just works. But maybe he refe...

Copying not working when I drag and drop to same drive

I refer to: Tools -> Configuration -> (Other) -> Shell Integration -> Drag and Drop: When I choose as option for "Default action on drag and drop to same drive" "Copy" instead of "Move (Windows Standard)" nothing changes compared with "Move": After dragging an...

Delay in opening folders

I don't know if it's just me but there is a noticeable delay in opening a folder (by double clicking) when using XYplorer (tested with version 28.00.0200, 64 bit, portable): It takes about 3-4 seconds whereas with the Windows Explorer it opens immediately.

Re: German

Und noch was in dieser Art:

Bei Windows heißt der Ordner auf C:
"Benutzer"

Beim XYplorer wird er zu:
"Users"

Ansicht → Listenelemente zeigen): "Geschützte Be...
