Not possible. This behavior is pretty much hardcoded work with File Explorer. But you don't have to hunt through the Downloads folder. Only being able to paste text from the clipboard is 80's tech.

Add that ability to paste graphics from the clipboard in this forum application. If you have no control, send this over to those that do.
