Re: Folder sizes calculated on demand with a single click
... it would also work for recalculating a cached folder. Don't know exactly like this should work but I would expect to recalculate a folder size on each click on the circle. For example, I have a copy operation in progress and want to check the target folder's current size. I have noticed when I ...

Re: "Folder View Settings" vs "Column Layouts" vs UX
A personal thing. In a previous file manager (Multi Commander) it was on F5. But since F5 is refresh in many other programs that I use, I chose F1 because it is the easiest to reach, I do not have to look down, do not have to [search with touch] (don't know the english word :-)). I also very very fr...

Re: "Folder View Settings" vs "Column Layouts" vs UX)
That's maybe another thing that could be more obvious. Maybe just a "F1 for help" in each window where this takes effect.

Re: "Folder View Settings" vs "Column Layouts" vs UX)
Thanks. I've already remapped F1 to Copy. When I assign F12 to Help / Contents and Index it does open the Help when in the list view but not when in the Edit Folder View dialog.
EDIT: Ahh, ok, it is hardcoded to F1.

Re: "Folder View Settings" vs "Column Layouts" vs UX)
When I searched the dots in the help I realized that this follows the path wildcards. I don't use them that much in general. The confusing thing is that in the line bellow the path field some wildcards are mentioned while the others are not. So it creates questions. And there is no immediate help so...

"Folder View Settings" vs "Column Layouts" vs UX
Hi, I think this is a great feature but usability-wise would need improvements. Until now it was just a bit clunky but now I've already got frustrated. 1) Column Layouts (CL) as presets do not seem to be saved within the Folder View Setting (FVS). The column layout saved in the FVS is hard-set, not ...

Re: Size Bars visual should be improved
The same math is behind the circles? Here, all but two looks to me almost identical but the sizes vary quite a bit from the usability perspective while from the petabyte perspective they are dwarfs. The PB range can be mapped but I don't think it can be mapped usefully with the current style. Hmm......

Re: Size Bars visual should be improved
In the scale column I use "MB" display. What if the low limit of the bar is adjusted to the displayed units? Meaning if I have all MB, I don't need the whole first section go down to such a B/KB detail. In this case it could be that the first section shows down to 0.01 MB, it would be the ...

Re: Size Bars visual should be improved
I am new to XYplorer, I've discovered the size bars and I don't get them. I've tried a script with a simple tunable log scale with predefined max, but it does not work. You were there already though. For the real size you have the numbers. The graphics show whether a file is bigger or smaller than t...
