I am cleaning up an external drive, I select Delete to delete a whole folder, answer the prompts, wait while it calculates how long it will take, then for the next 4 or 5 minutes while the delete is running, I cannot do anything in XY, it seems the delete is being done in the main GUI thread rather ...

I am getting a new laptop - is copying C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\XYplorer\XYplorer.ini sufficient? If not, what else do I need to do?

Say I have two panes open, and I set the sort order for one of them to say "Name", then change directory in that pane and sort to say "Modified", then change back to the original directory - it is now sorted by "Modified". How do I keep the sort order for a directory? Ken

Ok, more on "Access is denied" testing.

Change my left window to drive C, select \Users, right click and Add to users.zip, and I get "Access is denied, cannot open file C:\Users" .. so it is a 7zip problem?

Just stumbled over something, but not quite the above scenario. Try the above, BUT attempt to zip a folder that is in the root dir, I get "File not found or no read permissions", and an empty zip file is created in the root dir, and the error as above is also displayed BUT just tried it ag...

Out of memory? I tried zipping an empty dir and also received the error message.

I select a directory. Right click, Zip, Add to "name".zip 7-Zip zips the directory up When finished, "Apparently the zip failed. Mo items have been added to the archive" Using XYplorer to get 7-Zip to open zip file, files zipped match files in directory, all looks ok Open zip in ...

Got it to work, I had to change 7z.exe to 7zFM.exe and also change the default opening of zip files from File Explorer to 7zFM.exe

Been busy, getting back to mopping up some problems. A while ago, I followed the instructions and changed XY...ini to ZipPath7zip=C:\Program Files\7-zip\7z.exe ZipExtractUse7zip=1 and nothing changes ... as well as 7z.exe I tried 7zFM.exe and 7zG.exe, all with the same result. What am I doing wrong?...
