While these PEs have lots of cracked and similar software, being included in them probably gets some more publicity for the 'legal' version. No - I just tried a few things. And I still don't know WHICH filter is doing the 'graying out' because it is not obvious (to me anyway) from looking in the Color filter box which one is being used. If I do Tools, Customize Tree, Show Section Colors untick, then the 'graying out' goes away and the contents of added USB drives looks the same as everything else.
