Re: +++ BREAKING NEWS: XYplorer goes twinBASIC +++
I am not active here much, I lurk occasionally. But as I use XYplorer exclusively whenever I use Windows (I switched to Linux a year ago, but have a Windows Vm for non-Linux stuff), this is great news!!! Thank you!! I just wanted to point out that there is a market in Linux for XYplorer! I'm doing a...

Copy Filename and tags to clipboard
Hi all,
I need help. I have to urgently sort and mark a large number of files, and I need to copy to clipboard the filename and tag for multiple selected files. Or export them in a text document/excel table. How can I do that?
Thanks in advance to everyone!

Re: Problem with Click and search: Labels
Because not everybody wants every tag in some kind of specific list? Maybe you want to give items just a temporary tag. This would be impossible if all tags would be stored automatically in the current list and you need to clean up that list afterwards. Ok, but if I understand correctly, the only w...

Re: Problem with Click and search: Labels
This will not add such a tag to a tag list^^ Use the "Add Tags..." entry and check the box at the bottom of that window Sure, I have no problem with the workflow as such, but is there a reason that "such" a tag wouldn't be added to a Tag list? I would expect it to be there, beca...

Re: Problem with Click and search: Labels
Where do you see "Insert as New Category Here / Click and Search: Tags "? It should be greyed out if there are no tags. Hi, Strange stuff here. So I nuked an entire tag and label list from Configuration -> Options -> Remove all tags, and only now is grayed out. I add again a tag to a fold...

Re: Problem with Click and search: Labels
I can reproduce the Error 9 this way, so maybe it' related: I don't have any files tagged at all on my system. I go to Catalog -> Insert as New Category Here -> Click and Search: Tags -> Error 9 Error: 9 (0x00000009) Desc: Subscript out of range Dll: 0 Proc: MCMU Source: XYplorer XY ver: XYplorer 25...

Re: Sort favorite-like files/folders 1st per folder?
This shouldn't be so hard. Tag or label them, sort them by that column to get you "favorites" to the top and then shift click on the modified column header (= second sort) and you have what you need. Oh I feel stupid now. I never thought of that as I never dived any deeper into tags and l...

Sort favorite-like files/folders 1st per folder?
Hi, I was wondering if this would be interesting to implement? The concept would be to mark a file or folder (or more of them) "favorite" or "prioritize" them for that current folder, which would always sort it on top? My work process includes wrangling a lot of folders and files...

Re: InDesign icons not showing up
Do you know maybe if there is a way to manually register the dll for 32bit branch, and do you think it would help solve the icon issue? I'm just curious.
BTW No problem, thanks for taking the time to talk about this.

Re: InDesign icons not showing up
OK, I just unticked the indd from categories -> preview as thumbnails and I've got the preview. Number of pages is wrong, it shows 2 instead of idk how many from memory for that specific file (more than 10), but the preview is working. Of course, this is all in the latest beta, no-install.

Re: InDesign icons not showing up
HI,
I just checked, no thumbs or preview in the latest no-install beta. Also, Explorer doesn't provide thumbnails either, just large icons.

Re: InDesign icons not showing up
Hi, 1) Unfortunately, it is not, there are multiple InDesign file types - normal file, book file, package file, old indd versions, etc... Check the attachment for an example. I'll just extract the icons from it and use that. 2) Ok, unexpectedly, Explorer does give a mushy preview of the first page, ...

Re: InDesign icons not showing up
Hi, and thanks for the quick reply. I will try that, I just have to find out how to extract the icons from the dll from here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Shell\CC.2023\icons.dll. I'll figure it out. As for your question, no, I don't have the preview or the thumbnails, and I would be surprise...
