Maybe the system uses the 128x128 resource, instead of the 256x256? If you supply Windows 10 with a 128x128 icon, it will display at 48x48. 96x96 icons aren't generated unless the 256 size is contained in the source icon. I know that Windows uses the 256x256 icon to render the 96x96 ones that are used for Large. I don't know anything beyond that.

On my Window 10 PC, selecting "Large Icons" displays them at 96x96.

Selecting "Large Icons" in XYplorer displays them at 48x48.

If you just want to toggle showing the file extension from the end of the filename, NOT toggle the actual Ext column all you would need in the on left click field of the custom toolbar button is this by itself: #412; This does what I was trying to accomplish. This is what I'm trying to fix. All of the icons are tiny, like on XP. I can get Windows Explorer to show these at 96x96, but I can't find a way to do it in XYplorer.

I don't have that option in the View menu or in settings.

The contents in the file change each time but the button still has no affect on the file extensions.
