What about a little jumping? When working with files and folders all day long, it's no uncommon to have to assign tags to items, to mark them -- for instance, you could have folders of projects tagged Urgent, To Do, Done, etc and files of a project can be tagged themselves whether they are Completed, Modified, To Be Treated, Error, etc In the same idea, you might want to add comments to items, to have any brief information available right there when working on your files. Feature File Tags regroups both tags and comments, even though they are two different things and are not directly linked together. You can use either tags only, comments only, both or neither independently. However, both tags and comments are saved under the same file (tag.dat), find their settings under the same category on Configuration : Tags. You can show tags and/or comments directly on List, simply by using columns Tag and Comment. Note that for either those comments to actually be filled with data, you need to enable option Show tags and comments in file list on Configuration - Tags. During file operations within XY, tags and comments are preserved in the most natural ways possible. Note that any file operations occurring outside of XY will obviously not have tags nor comments preserved (even for items in the current location with auto-refresh enabled). Moving items, tags & comments will move along items. When moving an item and replacing an already existing one, any existing tags/comments from source items will be set to destination items, replacing any previously existing tags/comments on destination items. If a source item does not have tag or comment, but the previously existing destination item does, they will be preserved. In other words, no tags or no comments do not overwrite any existing tags or comments.
