NirSoft’s ShellExView (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html) can tell you which file types are supported and which handler is responsible for the preview / properties / thumbnails of a particular file type.
Download ShellExView for x64.
In ShellExView make sure to tick Options / Show 32-bit Shell Extensions.
For checking out Preview Handlers: Filter the list by selecting "Preview Handler" in Options / Filter By Extension Type.
For checking out Property Handlers: Filter the list by selecting "Property Handler" in Options / Filter By Extension Type.
For checking out Thumbnail Handlers: Filter the list by selecting "Thumbnail Handler" in Options / Filter By Extension Type.
