Re: Like a new feature? Say thanks here
It's a certain drawing function that's completely screwed in Win7, and I finally found the time to work around it. So Win7 XYplorer is now as fast as XP XYplorer has always been. The function is used in hundreds of contexts, so it is impossible to give an overall report on the speed improvement.grindax wrote:It does feel faster, but I wasn't sure if I was imagining it. How did you measure this to be sure there is an actual difference?admin wrote:(Did anybody note the speed explosion in Win7, especially in drawing and scrolling lists?)

It shows the cycles consumed by any running process. In real-time

Code: Select all
v11.20.0003 - 2012-05-29 20:29
%%% Completely rewrote transparent image drawing with speed gains in
XP and more notably in Win7. No effect in pre-Win 2000 systems.
+ Configuration | Thumbnails: Now you can choose between various
display styles. The new Style dropdown offers 5 styles:
- Plain
- Box
- Frame
- Shadow
- Frame with Shadow
The last one is the new factory default.
Cheers,
Filehero

I made for you. Kind of. If you hadn't ask I'd never tried to do it again. I had failed so often at this.eil wrote:i don't know about anyone else, but for me it's a wonderful enchantment! much thanks, Don.Code: Select all

appreciate it.admin wrote:I made for you. Kind of. If you hadn't ask I'd never tried to do it again. I had failed so often at this.
still kinda weird no one else asked for this, considering many users have large monitors/use high resolutions.

Its not that nobody likes these things, its just that most of us are OK with however it was previously as it does not affect productivity or workflow.eil wrote:appreciate it.admin wrote:I made for you. Kind of. If you hadn't ask I'd never tried to do it again. I had failed so often at this.
