Also have to remind about Types and Stats:
http://www.xyplorer.com/release_12.30.htm#tsf

This is still as useful as always. I have many folders that have so many various files in it and Types and Stats have always been very useful to clean it up, give me a quick glance at what file types are in, and more.

Code: Select all

+++ Context-Smart Columns
though i'm not really a Details-view user, i like this very much! :appl:
yet, id wish more places/abilities to appear to use this charm:

Code: Select all

Instead of holding CTRL you can hold the left mouse button down and then do a right-click (while the left button is down).
i'd say it could become a standart "override" of CTRL+click for mouse users. :kidding:

Code: Select all

v13.90.0003 - 2014-04-02 22:25
[...]
* Autosize Columns: New approach to an old problem.
   [...]
Factory default is no exclusions, i.e. the factory default is back to
the state we had before v13.80.0102.
What a relief! I have the impression that I was pressing Ctrl-+ all the time lately. Thanks!

Instant Color Filter

Post by aurumdigitus »

While not a big proponent of Instant Color Filter have kept it on the TB next to Type Stats & Filter as it does have its uses. Today - under near emergency circumstances - was able to remember that it contained Black Out. This demonstrates that you never know what you might need.

Or as that great American philosopher Yogi Berra once put it:
Making predictions is difficult, especially about the future.

Code: Select all

v13.90.0102 - 2014-04-08 21:26
+++ Find Files | Contents: Added support for IFilters. IFilters are used to
extract pure text from complex files. So now you can search the contents
of file types like DOC, DOCX, PDF, or HTML.
      Notes:
      - IFilters are not used when either "It's a hex string" or "Match unicode"
        are ticked.
      - It depends on your system which IFilters are available. In the web you
can find IFilters for almost anything.
Thank you, gracias, DANKE, thx :appl: xxxooo!!!! I forgive you all the wishes that you ignored ;) (for right now  ). But really, thank you sooo much. Maybe its the tiredness (late, bed- :bug: time) or the alcohol  but I am almost getting emotional  right now because of this happy occasion. It's such a relieve, I have been hoping for this so bad. Thx, Stephan.

EDIT: As long as XY does not work with 64 bit iFilters or at least with iFilters for all MS Office file formats while MS Office being installed on a 64 bit system, I unfortunately have to take my thanks back. Sorry.

Damn.

Code: Select all

makecoffee ("D:\temp\XY\tea.png", 3/5); if(confirm("Keep report open?") == 0) { #485; } else {  };
It may not be the perfect balance between easiness of usage vs html() full power for delivering images at reports, but it's a step towards it. Thanks Don and Enternal/Marco/SammaySarkar, for kicking it! Fun thread, BTW.

Code: Select all

    * SC makecoffee enhanced: Now you choose what is served!
      Syntax: makecoffee [file], [stretchfactor=1]
file: Full path to image file to draw.
              Should support transparency, e.g. PNG.
If missing the internal cup of coffee is used.
stretchfactor: can be used to shrink or enlarge the image.
      Example:
        makecoffee "E:\Test\tea.png", 1/5;

Code: Select all

v14.00.0105 - 2014-05-07 21:16
+ Menu View | Columns: Added command "Save Column Layout As...". Saves the
current column layout (all visible columns, their sequence, their
captions, their widths) to a small TXT file in the new application data
      path <xydata>\Columns.
Only enabled in Browse and Find mode.
+ Menu View | Columns: Added command "Load Saved Column Layout...". Loads a
new column layout (all visible columns, their sequence, their captions,
their widths) from a small TXT file in the new application data path
      <xydata>\Columns.
Only enabled in Browse and Find mode.
    > Remarks on the above enhancements:
      - Now isn't this a cool way to handle layouts?! File based! After all this
        is a file manager.
      - You can save as many different layouts as you want.
      - Custom captions are supported, even in Unicode. Hence the TXT files are
        in UTF-16LE.
      - Sure, they are portable.
      - Hey, you can even share those little layout files.
    - The following closely related commands have been superseded by the above
new commands (taking over the old command IDs). They had confused too many
      users anyway:
View | Columns | Save Column Layout
View | Columns | Load Saved Column Layout
Cool indeed - this is what i like to call thinking further on down the road :appl: :appl: :appl:
and turns my embarassement (having made a unaware remark) into pride

SC inputselect enhanced: Now you can autoselect the first item in the
list. Also when the filter is changed the first item in the filtered list is
autoselected. And you can autofocus the filter box.
Thanks so much, invaluable!
