Nice feature Don, it's great to have this new flexibility - to use other image files for toolbar icons. :appl:

I fully agree. gif and png are so much easier to find and create than ico.

Code: Select all

+ Custom Toolbar Buttons: Now you can use references to image files of the
following formats to define the button graphics:
        PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, TIF

Code: Select all

+ Scripting: Now you can also use image files of the following formats to
define the icons in multi-script menus:
        PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, TIF
probably a real step forward for XY customize-ability!

I agree with the others: support for the more common image formats is fantastic.

+++ Toolbar: Droppable User Buttons + Paper Folders = Drop Stacks!
       1. Create a new Paper Folder, just for fun call it "DropStack".
       2. Add a new User Button to the Toolbar, and set its Name field to
"paper:DropStack" (w/o quotes). Leave all other fields empty (or set
the Icon if you feel like it).
       3. Done! Now you can drag-drop items to that button and they will be
added to DropStack. At any time click the button to go to DropStack.
This is my new favorite thing!!!
Mine, too!!! Collecting photos for a print job has turned from pain to pleasure. For me it's one of those features that would justify running an app just by themselves.

Glad to hear I am not the only one who appreciates paper folders. Especially since it was me pushing for a feature like that. PFs are among the first things I immediately miss outside of XY. Indispendable.

I can imagine DropStacks coming in handy, although for a heavy PF user like me - who has just too many of them to warrant CTBs, there has been a similar workflow all along. So just for the record, here it is, I've been using this from the very beginning of PF:

Organize your PFs into tabsets - per company, project, whatever - then drag + drop stuff across dual pane onto the tab captions. Allows very versatile dropstack combinations that you can adjust quickly on the fly. If you need just one at a time, "copy to other pane" also does the trick (put #804 into PFA for all types). Note that this also works in single pane. :!:

Code: Select all

; Tweak: Set to b|r|s|k|e to open Batch[Default]|RegExp|SearchReplace|KeepChars|SetExtension when calling Rename on multiple files.
MultipleRenameDefault=
many thanks to Don for this tweak!

SC get got a new named argument "targetitems" by which you can retrieve
the full paths of all target items of the last file operation (copy, move,
backup, create new, add to paper folder).
Thanks for this time saver. There wasn't any way to track those names in case of collisions earlier.

Just got around to experimenting with

Code: Select all

ToolbarZoom=
This is devilishly clever. A quantum leap above the prior option of Large or Small. Whoever hatched this concept should keep the eggs coming!

Not only is it fun but it may even be useful to some.

I must say, I would have never thought to ask for the 'obfuscate;' feature, but I can see it usefulness when posting screen shots.

That said, aside from it's potential actual utility, I have found it to be quite fun playing around with it for a few minutes. Much more fun than I ever had with the 'makecoffee;' command.

It also gave me a moment of scare when I first tried it out, then wondered, "how the hell do I get my file names back?".
