Not exactly a "review" but just to show that we can have some effect on helping XY...

In another thread related to SoftPedia (http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 92#p42692),
I posted and Don replied:

Ah, there are millions of out-dated software sites. They are just overworked robots...
to which I followed up with

So...this morning I decided to email using the addresses found on that staff page...here's what I wrote (to four of those ppl):
Hi all!

Yes, I'm sending to multiple staff cause I'm not sure who may respond...

Found your site yesterday...and noticed that my favorite software is VERY outdated:
http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4852-xyplorer.html

It's showing vers 8.00 but it's now up to vers 8.80 as can be seen at http://www.xyplorer.com/download.htm
and here's the PAD http://www.xyplorer.com/XYplorer-PAD.xml

Can someone please update this? Thanks!
FYI: I'm a active supporter of XY and maintain http://xyplorer.blogspot.com/
And now, less than 3 hrs later, I got this reply from julio@techspot.com:
It’s done. Thanks for the note.

:D And yes, it IS updated! With a little note in the "What's New" of:
"8.80 is a free upgrade for all users owning a Lifetime License, and for users owning a Standard License for 7.90 or later. The download is good for the Pro Edition and for the Home Edition."

See? They DID respond! And you thought they were robots... :P Ha!

Thanks MUCH to Julio for the prompt action to my request! Now I just hope we don't have to notify them monthly or so when XY gets a new "Official Release"...

Dude, you have no idea how smart robots are nowadays. Especially when they come from the future...

So I sent Julio a reply back as follows:
Thanks VERY much for the reply and the update to site!
I realize it's hard to keep up with all the changes in packages and wondering how best to handle this in future as XY gets an "Official Release" about once a month.

BTW, since you handled this so promptly, I created a thread on our forum about it: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4607
To which he responded today with:
Hi John,

Again, thanks for the feedback. And no, it’s not a bunch of robots running the site but dedicated group of editors, so when you see us at fault, well, we are human :)

The way we go about updates is manually looking at developer sites and also going through feeds for the latest updates.

Guess we'll just have to keep an eye out on this site occasionally so it doesn't get too far behind...never know where one may get a sale of XY from, right?

Thanks Mr. Hallgren! Those folks seem to be alright. I'd like to meet their programmer.
