HKCR\Directory\Background support

Post by John Peterson »

Please implement support for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex extensions[MSDN].

Thanks!

Currently, XY doesn't support HKCR\Directory\Background.

If you want the context menu as defined by HKCR\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers there are a few ways to achieve this.

Please see this thread for more discussion: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8551

There are numerous ways to get that menu though.
  1. Obviously, right-click on the folder in the tree.
  2. Right-click the folder's icon in the address bar.
  3. Set the following INI tweak to 1:

    Code: Select all

    ; Tweak: 0=Edit menu, 1=Folder's shell menu, 2=Favorites, 3=reserved, 4=Tabs
    CEA_ListRightClickOnWhite=1
EDIT: Clarification.

I was not aware of CEA_ListRightClickOnWhite.

Thanks!

Can I disable the items

[pre]Restore previous versions
Cut
Copy
Create shortcut
Delete
Rename[/pre]

from the background context menu? or disable their access key?

AFAIK, those are system wide and not accessable to XY...I may be wrong but that's my understanding.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

j_c_hallgren is correct.

Why disable them?
