Thumbnail rotation incorrect

Post by kiwichick »

Hi there, I'm sure it's probably some setting that I've turned on/off but why are some of my thumbnails rotated the wrong way? Cheers.

Thanks admin, Yes I have that checked. I even tried it unchecked just to see if it made any difference :-)

Well, then these thumbnails do not contain the necessary info. What does Explorer do with them?

Thank again, Explorer displays them just fine. Also in XY a lot of the thumbnails look very 'pixelated' which doesn't happen in Explorer. And would you be able to tell me what is "the necessary info" they don't contain? Cheers.

Cool, thanks.

Um yes, the screenshot in my first post  Maybe pixelated isn't the word I'm looking for but some of the thumbnails are 'blurry'? 'blocky'? 'pixelated'? The first 'red marked' thumbnail (of the cupcake) looks that way as well as the two before it and the five or six after it.

For comparison here's a screenshot of the same view in Explorer

I think they seem blurrier because they are bigger than in Explorer.

Can you send me one of the wrongly rotated originals?

Sorry admin, it has nothing to do with the size. I've tried all different sizes/views in XY and Explorer - the result is the same. Here are different sized thumbnails in both:

Windows Explorer

And if I upload the photo the same way as the screenshots, will it still be the 'original' or do I need to upload it to a fileshare site?

Cheers.

Your screenshots are of very low JPEG quality, so there are not useful for any quality checks.

Send the image per email (http://www.xyplorer.com/support.htm).

OK, got them.

1) quality: same as Explorer when Super-fast thumbnails is ON, much better than Explorer when Super-fast thumbnails is OFF.

2) rotation: no problems here. Actually both pics are NOT rotated but simply displayed as is.
