Hey there!
I'm on the lookout for a good filemanager. I've got alot of files I need to get in order and rename. I've just only now tried the Trial version of XYplorer but I must admit I'm not an advanced user.
I was wondering if the following renaming is possible via XYplorer:
I've got multiple text-files I need renamed. Each of them have 4 or 5 numbers, plus text, in their filenames. As an example of a typical file: "12345-TitleofText.txt". For me thats a bit messy when you got literary hundreds of files. For my own browsing convenience I'd like it a bit different.
I want to insert space between the numbers and the text so it looks like this:
"12345 - TitleOfText.txt" but dont know how and I'm not familiar with the technical lingo for such a renaming. Is it using a "wildcard" or similar? I obviously dont want to change the names of the files, only add spaces.
Individual files is no problem, but I got hundreds of files I need renaming, and since each file has individual numbers and text I'm kinda at a loss as how to do a multiple renaming with above parameters.
Is there a way to do this type of renaming with XYplorer?
Thanks in advance.

Select all the files
Right click -> Rename Special -> Search and Replace...
For the pattern specify "-/ - " (without the quotation marks)
Click OK
Ah! There we go! Thanks
