16.90 isn't returning to last list
Since updating today from the previous version, XYplorer is not opening to the last list with most of my desktop icons, although that setting remains checked. For example, I have an icon on my desktop for D:\Video, but now it's opening to D:\ every time. Or C:\Adobe Files is opening to C:\. I wondered if it was because of a computer glitch earlier in the day where I had to shut down manually and restart, but I reinstalled XYplorer (on top) and recreated all the icons doing it, but the problem continues. Ideas?
Re: 16.90 isn't returning to last list
You mean that XY doesn't start with "Desktop" as the current folder in the active tab?XYplorer is not opening to the last list
Which setting, "Permanent startup path"?although that setting remains checked
And what is that, a shortcut, a junction, anything else?I have an icon on my desktop for D:\Video
Show the properties for the icon that links to the video folder...

Re: 16.90 isn't opening shortcuts to correct subfolder
I wasn't clear enough (and have retitled the thread). I have a number of shortcuts on my desktop that open to different folders on different drives. Most of those now open to the next level up, which in most cases means the drive itself. Hence, the C:\Adobe Files icon now opens to C:\, even though I've just closed C:\Adobe Files and the shortcut's properties show the latter. However it came about, this wasn't happening when I turned on my computer Saturday morning.

Re: 16.90 isn't returning to last list
I just did a system restore back to yesterday and XYPlorer behavior returned to normal. Then I updated to 16.90 and the problem returned. That suggests it's a bug.
Re: 16.90 isn't returning to last list
01. Does it work with a fresh instance (enter ::fresh; {ENTER} in the address bar)
02. So you are double clicking such a shortcut directly on the desktop or inside XY's "Desktop" folder?
If the former is the case:
Configuration | Shell Integration | Default File Manager | XYplorer is default file manager
is checked, correct?
And it this is true as well, open regedit.exe and navigate to (depending on if the shell integration is for the current or all users):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\directory\shell\XYplorer\Command
resp.:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\directory\shell\XYplorer\Command
Double click the (Default) entry there, an "Edit String" window opens, copy & paste the "Value data:" line here...

Re: 16.90 isn't returning to last list
Oh yeah, I did not think of this when I did this recently:
Guess I will undo this and introduce the /select switch...
Code: Select all
* Command Line: Now a final backslash makes a difference in how the startup
path is handled.
- This will go to "E:\Test\", and select "Sub" in the file list:
XYplorer.exe E:\Test\Sub
- This will go to "E:\Test\Sub\":
XYplorer.exe E:\Test\Sub\

Re: 16.90 isn't returning to last list
Before I saw your last replies, I undid the update with system restore. Not inclined to play with 16.90 again.
Yes, shortcuts are on the desktop and XYplorer is the default.

Yes, it does appear to fix it. Thanks.
