When was XY born?

Post by serendipity »

Just curious to know when XY's first version was released? I mean back then it was called tracker or so right? Just want to know the first release date. Maybe there should be a date set aside for this ever so special app. :)

The source code goes back to 1997. My oldest source code backup is from 26-June-1997.
The oldest EXE I have is: Tracker.exe, 105.472 bytes, 26.10.1997 17:13:24, ver 1.10

It was available as freeware for some time before being offered as "free for non-commercial use" from 2000-2006.

The first sale (a Lifetime License) was 19 April 2000. I know that the user is still using it today on this license. :)

Nice info, so would you say XY's birthday to be 26th June or 26th October?

I'd say 26th June (although 26th October would be nearer for getting presents).

But wait, the oldest file within the archive is from 25th June 1997 (the Find Files module still existing today), and in that file there is proof that I started coding already on 26th February 1997 04:16:04! (what a time to start a project for the next 15 years and counting...) So that's it: 26th Feb.
