Shift+Delete window in background
One of my computers has the MAK-keyboard, and on this keyboard I have no Del-key.
So instead of Shift+Del I use Delete from the context menu and key Shift. This works just as well as a combination of two keys.
However, the window (with confirmation) comes to the foreground only for the first time after the opening of XYplorer. If after such a deletion I will choose another tab (or file panel) and will do the same Shift + Delete (from context menu), then delete confirmation window will always be in the background.
I know about this bug so long ago that I had forgotten that I saw XYplorer without this bug. But now I am forced to work on this keyboard very often and therefore I inform about this very annoying problem.
Of course on normal keyboard I get the same error. But I can use there Shift+Del key combination.

Similarly.
Menu File=>Restart without Saving
Select files\folder and press Shift+Delete
The Window (with confirmation) is not coming to the fore
Win8.1 32 and 64 bit

Klass
You should not forget that removal via the context menu with Shift.

No. Problem without "File operation progress dialog modeless" remains.KLASS wrote:Configuration | File Operations | Miscellaneous | File operation progress dialog modeless

Re: Shift+Delete window in background
Cannot repro the problem (with either setting of "modeless").

Re: Shift+Delete window in background
That's impossible. After the first removal, any deletion in other file-pane comes with a hidden window of confirm the deletion.admin wrote:Cannot repro the problem (with either setting of "modeless").
And of course this happens only with the shift-deletion from the context menu.
I have three computers. Everywhere the same. The first MAC on which stands Win7, second and third - laptops, there is also Win7.
Users - please confirm that the situation is such as I have described, because Don seems to have a special computer.
Re: Shift+Delete window in background
I cannot reproduce it either.
Does it happen in a fresh instance of XY as well?

Re: Shift+Delete window in background
Oh God. I always forget to check on a freshly installed version.TheQwerty wrote:I cannot reproduce it either.

logically - just three computers at once, what to check?
But you're right. On a freshly installed version of XYplorer I see no bug.
If I find why (what setting causes the behaviour) i will report here.
Thanks
Re: Shift+Delete window in background
It doesn't happen 100% of the time but I get it occasionally by doing the following...
From fresh.
Enable Background Processing for Deletes.
(Optional but seems to increase chance) Enable Queue file operations.
All while holding down Shift:
If after repeated attempts the dialog never goes to the background try restarting XY and performing the steps again.

- In the confirmation dialog approve deleting the file.

Re: Shift+Delete window in background
OK.
Seems to have found. Hidden window (after context menu deletion with Shift) is obtained immediately after the checkbox "Delete (run at ance in paralell process)" in the list of "Apply to ... (File Operations - Background Processing)".
--add--
After removing this checkbox from my (not fresh XY) the bug has disappeared.

Re: Shift+Delete window in background
Yep, now I can see it too. But it cannot be fixed. It's a Windows feature/bug (cannot decide since it is irregular). I've seen the same when the CTRL key is down. Nothing can overwrite this behavior.

1) But the first delition is not hidden.
2) SHift+Del combination I don't see hidden window (i have now MAK keyboard without Del-key, but remember that I don't have hidden window).
3) If "Nothing can overwrite this behavior" you can say it in the tip somewhere in GUI, because I, and other can forget it.

Re: Shift+Delete window in background
Only very few users will ever set Delete to background operations. If I will do anything I will rather remove the option to do this. This will fix the issue for good.
