1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Inactive Pane Color

Post by Optiplan »

In Tools|Configuration|Colors I set Inactive Pane Color to Black.
When application restart, color is always set to grey (#C6C6C6)

Do you save your settings? As far as I know XY doesn't save settings automatically. Most likely you have XY to work in tray all the time, and probably it hasn't a chance to close properly (with settings saved).

I save with File|Save Settings; I tried also File|Settings Special|Save Configuration and Save Folder View Settings

I open the Configuration File. I look for an entry for "Inactive Pane Color" but find none. Version # is 13.90.0100

Set the color to black and then type this in the addressbar:

Code: Select all

::exit "sr";
XYplorer will restart, does the color revert back to grey again?

Uhm, yes. Color black is 0 (zero), and in this context it also means "undefined, take factory default". So take a color near black (e.g. 010101) and all will be fine.

010101 works fine. Thanks to You all.

XYplorer is a great product. I gived it a try for 2 weeks and love it so I bought the Lifetime Licence Pro.

I know the poster got through this issue, but I'm wondering if this was the correct answer to the OP's question. While playing with theme scripts, I just experienced a similar issue trying to change the color of the inactive pane background and it simply would not change for me no matter how or what color I selected. As it turned out the setting, ShadeInactivePane=1 was set to "0" on this particular theme I was using whereas with other themes I have it checked off or set to "1". This setting is located under Tabs and Pane | Dual Pane. Consequently, no matter what you put in the box in Configuration | Colors for Inactive pane, the color doesn't show up. Are we sure that's not what the problem was here? That setting was never mentioned. I say this because inputting a color of "black", "0", either directly in the ini file or through the Configuration interface as "000000", hasn't been a problem in any of the theme scripts I've used.
Thanks,
Ken

[POST REPLACED]
this behavior isn't the same for all GUI-editable colors.

All set...I see what you mean as far as Inactive Pane Color not liking "000000". Thanks
