1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

[Fixed] UNC & Go Up function
To navigate up to the parent directory, I have my tabs / On dbl-click action set to "Go Up". If I'm several folders deep in a UNC path on a server and click "Go Up", it takes me all the way up to the server. I even tried the toolbar "Up (Backspace)" action, same behavior. Backspace key does the same thing.
Example:
\\server\share\folder\folder\folder
Click Go Up
\\server
Any ideas?

Re: UNC & Go Up function
Works fine here. Could it be that the server is not available?

You know me... I test every way I can before reporting something.admin wrote:Works fine here. Could it be that the server is not available?
This has done this for quite some time. Local install and portable. I have actually reported this here in the forums before. Couldn't find the post to continue the thread.
Is there anything I can test for you?

Re: UNC & Go Up function
Do you see the complete breadcrumb menu on the Toolbar "Up" button?

Re: UNC & Go Up function
Oh, thanks, I already had a strong feeling that I had heard the same thing not long ago... so it is a non-existing path again? Somehow the breadcrumb mixes the panes?... I wonder how to reproduce this...j_c_hallgren wrote:How about http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 777#p54777 ?EnjoyRC wrote:This has done this for quite some time. Local install and portable. I don't know about non-existing. Because I can start at \\server and double click my way to a few levels deep. Then when Going Up, you'd think that the path that I just came from would be available.admin wrote:Oh, thanks, I already had a strong feeling that I had heard the same thing not long ago... so it is a non-existing path again? Is the path fully visible in the tree?EnjoyRC wrote:I don't know about non-existing. Because I can start at \\server and double click my way to a few levels deep. Re: UNC & Go Up function
Ahhh.... no it's not.admin wrote:Is the path fully visible in the tree?
Keep in mind the way NTFS works too. One may not have rights all the way up and down the path.
Example: My user directory is located @ \\server\users\MARK
I have to go directly to that directory due to NTFS restrictions. I cannot browse \\server\users directory. (Access is denied). but if I type in \\server\users\mark, then I get to my directory. And I can double click deeper folders from there. Problem comes in when I'm deep in my allowed area, and try to Go Up, it tries to jump to \\server.
The entire time I'm doing all this UNC navigation, nothing is going on in the Tree View.

How does the branch look in the tree? If it looks like this it should work (go up from subofMark to MARK):EnjoyRC wrote:Ahhh.... no it's not.admin wrote:Is the path fully visible in the tree?

Re: UNC & Go Up function
If I have my 2 panes set to [Left = C:] and [Right = D:], as I change panes the tree switches to display the tree of the location of that pane. If I change one of those panes to point to \\server\somewhere, they tree does not change at all. Does not show the server at all.
