Duplicate-search lists the same file twice

When searching for duplicates, XYplorer seems to list the same file twice

Do you mean that it lists the path of a given file A twice or that it lists 2 different paths for the same file? A screenshot would be useful here to avoid confusion.

Cant reproduce the problem when using ::fresh, dup-search works as intended with it.

Some setting in your current config is interfering then. Let's see...

Well I "fixed" the issue by deleting everything bellow [Find] section right down to [Aliases] section in my config

PS: Or could it be that you inadvertently passed the search location 2 times, like:

Just tested few things, and the problem was back after I checked "Follow folder links" checkbox on.

Turns out i had shortcuts (*.lnk) to the subdirectories in my root dir.

\rootDIR\
\rootDIR\shortcut to ADir.lnk
\rootDIR\shortcut to BDir.lnk
\rootDIR\xxx\yyy\zzz\ADir\
\rootDIR\xxx\yyy\zzz\Bdir\

So when searching for dups, XYplorer followed those shortcuts and listed the same file twice...

Not sure if this is desired behavior (listing exactly the same file multiple times in the list with dups), since i almost deleted those files, thinking they were dups...

When I think about it,
I actually often create windows shortcut-files in root folder to its "deep" subfolder-paths, to be able to quickly jump into them and i know few folks who do the same...

That's a very good point indeed! I just sat down and wrote something to prevent this kind of double-listings. The next beta should handle it fine.

P.S.:
I've just tested the new Beta, and while *self-dupes* are no longer displayed while searching for duplicates,
standard search will still show the same file multiple times when you have *.lnk-shortcuts in your root and "Follow folder links" option is enabled.

I am doing a tag search, so I took a look at the tag file. There are two entries in the tag file for the same file. Not sure how that would come about, but I think that is why the tag search displays two lines for the same file.
