CAS Label Search finds too much

Post by Stef123 »

Create 2 labels: "correct" and "incorrect"
Now click on CAS entry to show "correct" labels only. It will also list incorrect labels.

Thanks for fixing it quicker than I hoped for. In the meantime I had turned "incorrect" into "not correct" which worked OK til I installed the patch. Now it's kind of the other way round: It only finds "not correct" in a combined search with "correct"

That's because "not" is seen as a Boolean NOT.

CAS Label Search, however, is smart enough to handle this: The term must be quoted, and it works fine here:

Code: Select all

?"not correct" /L

Hm, still over my head
I used the no-brainer method via "Insert as New Cat here > CAS:Labels"
Where do you want me to enter the modified quoted term? Under properties of the category or the item? Or do you mean to say I should define the label itself in quotes?

Also, I think I was able to delete folder and file references in the catalog by pressing Shift Del. Provided it has the focus, of course. This no longer works. Instead I get the warning that I am about to delete the real thing permanently.

a) You don't have to do anything. It just works. Here at least.
b) Works fine here.

Beats me why it doesnt work here. Created a brandnew label, just for the heck of it. Named it "try this" with a blank in the middle, and sure enough, CAS will find it only in a combined search with any other tick-marked label, but not by itself.

I re-define the very same label, with an underscore in the middle "try_this" - et voila - after updating the CAS-category the search works fine. The heck with it, I just rename my stuff with underscores, no big deal. :|

Are you using the latest version?

Oops. You sure keep it coming these days. I was still stuck on 14.70.0009 - the version that contained the fix. The very latest version however, takes care of both my issues. THANKS.

I did not fix anything after 14.70.0009. But fine that it works now. :)

Must have been Santa Clause if you didnt fix it. Or some red-nosed reindeer. To rule out my own red-nosed pre-holiday mood, I double-checked on my other notebook that still runs 14.70.0009. Problem still there, it takes the next version from Dec 20th to fix the second issue. :veryconfused:
Anyways, this kind of miracle I happily accept without questioning the reasons.
Cheers and jingling bells and all that jazz...
